Mako Miyatake  宮武茉子

Mako Miyatake is a 2nd-year Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at University of California Berkeley, working in the Morphing Matter Lab. Her research lies at the intersection of food and engineering. She aims to leverage her experience in device making, robotics and user-centered system development to broaden the design space of food HCI.

She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokyo. She also trained in professional culinary arts at the Tsuji Culinary Institute and holds a chef’s license in Japan.
