Mako Miyatake  宮武茉子

Mako Miyatake is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at University of California Berkeley, advised by Prof. Lining Yao. Her research interests are in the interdisciplinary field of food and engineering. She has been working on digital food fabrication systems that enable chefs to extend their creativity without engineering expertise. She aims to leverage her experience in device making, robotics and user-centered system development to expand the food design space.

She received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in engineering from the University of Tokyo. She also learned professional cooking skills at Tsuji Culinary Institute and obtained a chef's license in Japan.
