Breakfast-cooking Robot "Loraine"

The sound of eggs sizzling in the pan, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee --- what if you could wake up to that every day?

To realize this idea, we launched a project in May 2018 during my internship at Connected Robotics Inc. Using a small robotic arm and a 3D-printed robotic hand, this robot automatically prepares breakfast right before you wake up. In September 2018, the project won an award at Todai To Texas, and in March 2019, we showcased our demo at SXSW 2019 in Texas. Later, in July 2019, we also conducted a two-day proof-of-concept experiment at the breakfast buffet at a hotel in Tokyo.
